Osmo
News
2005-10-25: So Summer of Code has announced me. I haven't done much with the project
since the first release, but more is coming, I promise. This has been a
busy semester for me. Remember, you can always help.
About
Osmo is a program for sending math notation in Gaim conversations. To
see a demo of Osmo in action (1.3mb Flash), click
here.
Osmo was written by David Wilson (dwilson at dwilson period org) as
part of the Google
Summer of Code.
Requirements
At present, Osmo is only released in source form. So you must be able
to compile programs. More technical requirements:
- Osmo has only been tested on Linux, but it should work for most
POSIX-compatable systems. A Windows port is planned.
- Gaim (tested with 1.4.0 and 1.5.0, should work with most modern
versions)
- Gaim source must be available
- Qt3 - to compile LyX
- Python - LyX likes Python
- Some kind of TeX and LaTeX distribution for LyX to use. Under
Linux, use teTeX (this should
come with your distribution)
- dvipng
Documentation
User's Guide in pdf (100k) or html (8k).
Installation instructions can be found in the source tarball.
Download
